Thanks 00ChevyScott
Yeh! Been a long road but having plenty fun with it.
Just upgraded turbo last week. Larger AR & turbine wheel, ball bearing and billet compressor wheel. More power!!! Blew torque converter 2 days later. This week freshen up trans and replace converter ala reason for post.

Hey, just wanted to say hi. Been a long time since trt. My 07 silv that was built at trt and eventually lost the engine. It was later built with an hke 365. I had the vig 3 disk tightened from an actual 3k flash with the 5.3 to an actual 2200 with the 6.0. It was a lot more fun to drive on the street with the tighter converter but lost about a .1 or s in the 60'. Still wouldn't trade, isn't that what a 50 shot is good for?

Hows it going? say you did not like your previous stall. What was wrong with it or the negatives you experienced? Is yours a 10.5" or 9"

i had a yank TT3000 on my tahoe with my turbo. it would spool real fast. any time the converter unlocked the turbo was spooled. but i hated driving around with it like that. when the boost cam in real hard sometimes the rpm's would go striaght to red line. it would just blow right threw the converter. so i sold it and called yank for a new one. i got a billet converter from them. the on ein my sig. driveing around town the sucker feels almost stock nice and tight. easy to spool the turbo but not too easy. but when the boost comes in on a good brake stall it will go right to 3200 like its suppose to. when the trans shifts at 6000rpm it only drops about 1200 to 1400rpm. the thing i like most about it is that i can drive around town with out being at 3000rpm all the time. that tt3000 was just way too loose for my heavy tahoe and turbo. i know you said assume no traction issues but with my old tt3000 the turbo would spool so fast i had awd traction issues. thats from a dead stop just let off brake and mash gas pedal. the turbo would be spooled before i could even get across an intersection. with my new one it takes just long enough that i won't spin once spooled. unless of course it raining.

Been better actually. Waiting on this economy to loosen up. I forgot, I originally started with a 10.5", but with the 5.3 @ 5.5 lbs it would only flash to 2k and build to 2800 leaving at 3-4lbs. Back then my truck was pretty slow, so I traded it for the 9.5" (P.I. was great to do that) and upped the boost. Went from a 10.44 bone stock, to 9.54 with the 10.5" and sts, to 8.90 with a gear change only (3.42 to 4.10), to a 8.1x with the 9.5" and 8.5lbs in hot weather...returned in cold weather, 7.64! All with the same rear mount. I loved the way it got into boost so fast...almost no lag but it was a pita to have to drive stoplight to stoplight. It was very sluggish in traffic unless you got past the stall. If you wanted to keep the revs above 2900 or so during normal driving it was great. When I had it tightened to about 2-2200 flash and 2800-3k at the line with the 365, it was a lot more fun to drive even with only 10 deg timing while I broke it in. I got it retuned to 14 lbs and it would push to 3400 or so but it was hard to keep it in one lane with no limiting straps. For a DD I was just happier with it tighter. Now I'm just waiting on the money tree to start growing again. Sorry for the long rambling read.
