My 4.8 put down 339hp 359ftlbs on 7psi. So it seems like your missing out on some much deserved power.

numbers seem low to me. I've seen better gains from a cam and tune. Maybe something's not quite right. That's alot of money for those kind of gains

I think we have similar drivetrains, besides t-case, and rear ends. My mods are in my sig, and HP and torque. Don't know how different dynos can really be but it sounds like there can be a large variance. I am just posting this to show you how it did, may not mean anything, but hope it helps. Good luck!

395 @ only 4.5lbs boost?! That sounds great! So what's my problem? Unless your fans & my bigger tires make a huge difference? I make more boost than you but less hp, I just don't understand, especially since everything else would be generally identical! I got some #'s from my tuner to throw at ya: reved up to 5200, 11.5 AF, 11400 htz MAS, spark 12* @ 4500, 10.5* @ 5300 Are these #'s similiar to what you guys are finding? He said he tried to put more timing in, but started getting knock. Was running 93 octane.

To be honest, I think your numbers are about right from my experience with whipples. On my 99 truck (5.3, headers, cam, open exhaust, LS1 Edit tuning) I pulled 305hp and 375tq with 7psi from my whipple. Same dyno a few months before, I pulled 292hp 303tq before installing the whipple. Now, my 03 tahoe has a whipple and it "feels" like the same situation - nice torque gains but upper rpm power isn't greatly improved.

The main issue with getting high peak HP from the whipple is that its non-intercooled. I also think the airflow design of the inlet and outlet is sub-par. Those vehicles making higher hp with the Radix are benefiting from not only the cooler more dense air charge, but also the ability to run more timing on the same octane gasoline. Conversely, you'll see more gains from water injection system than a radix will since the whipples outlet air temps are so much higher.

I bought a water / alky injection kit, but have yet to install it. Once I do, I'll let you know my impressions.

Agreed, bottom end power is sick, but top end power leaves a lot to be desired with the whipple. My blower discharge temps after a 1/4 mile run can be over 225* when ambient temps are 80* or above. I plan on adding the Whipple intercooler very soon. I think with minimal fabrication the 8.1L whipple intercooler can be made to work with the small block setups. Not that i need to worry about that...
