Default Dual Walbros No Hobbs

Has anyone ever done a dual Walbro intank set up on a returnless fuel system that DOESN'T have a hobbs switch? I need to upgrade my single pump but don't want to rely on a hobbs switch to come on at certain psi of boost. Any reasons why this wouldn't be a good idea?

An A1000 is good enough for 90% of people on here. That will fuel enough for over 800whp on a boosted motor running on gas. If you wanna make that much power with e85 you can get an Aeromotive Eliminator.

I hear that the A1000's aren't very reliable for a daily driver and that they are prone to failure.

If that is not true, what would I need to do to my current setup to make it work? Would I have to go to a return style setup?

SilveradoL33 daily drove his for quite a while and the new owner is still driving it with the same pump. And Dadkins had one in his GTO for a couple years with no problem, then he went to an Eliminator.

Id rather have one pump to fail, with the A1000 if it quits your truck doesnt run, but with two 255s if one quits your truck goes lean.

And yea you'll have to go return with an a1000. I would assume you'd have to do that if running two 255s also.

Having a returnless style system poses several issues for you. One being that you do have a regulator returning fuel it's just part of the fuel pump module assembly & therefore bypasses/returns fuel directly into the tank without a external return line coming back to the tank. Having both pumps running at the same time is overkill while driving around not in boost which is 90% of the time or in my case 50/50 "lol" & would most likely create issues of too much fuel pressure for the tiny regulator that is not adjustable as well as what the pressure the injectors would see if you were to get both pumps plumed together & going through the intank regulator. Hobbs switch would be mandatory on the second pump IMO if you were to give it a shot. Since you have meth coming on at some point that is definitely helping out as a fuel supplement. You might be able to get away with adding a Kenne Bell BAP or Magnavolt & upgrading your fuel pump power/ground wires to 10ga. at the same time. Might just get you where you need to be without going big or dual pumps with your fuel system. Did a similar fuel set up on a returnless magna charged truck with a walbro intank 255, KB BAP, 60lb. inj. as well as the truck having meth with 12lbs. of boost on a lq4. It definitely put the single walbro pump where it needed to be to keep up with the injectors & the horsepower the truck was making.

Here's a link to the pictures of the Racetronics parish did for his horsepower level at one time & i believe he did a fuel returnline as well:

I don't think you can stuff 2 pumps in the returnless bucket with all the other stuff in there. I'm in the process of doing a conversion from returnless to return style.

Here's a pretty interesting thread on fuel system stuff.

Your absolutely right. But if you swap to return style you got all kinds of room if you remove the regulator inside the bucket. More room than a factory return style bucket does.
