I am not 100% positive but from what I understood is the kit from whipple used the stock injectors. I was told when it was tune that I was close to maxing out the injectors and I would have to install larger ones when I stared to increase the boost.

Do you have a boost gauge reading 8# or are you just going off what Whipple stated? If you have the stock 3.625" pulley, you're not making anywhere close to 8psi.

Any plans of adding more boost? Its addicti g
May be luck of the draw. As the trashed 6L80e in my truck proves. Maybe 20 runs down the track since I installed my Whipple and was tuned by a very reputable TCM tuner. Going with a Gearstar upgraded tranny next month. My wallet is not happy with me right now.

I would go with RPM transmissions for you build. I had gearstar build me a level 4 4l85 transmission which should have been plenty for my setup considering I was only making around 450 rwhp in my Whipple Denali setup only for it to blow up and they wouldn't stand behind it.

They don't offer a 6l80e for the trucks. If its the same company, then they probably use PATC, who do make a nice 6l80 but to the tune of $6,900. The Gearstar 6l80e upgrade actually has more upgraded parts with the exception of the powerglide 4-5-6 clutch packs that PATC uses. Also, Gearstar is only an hour from me. It's kind of a risk whoever I use. Plus, I don't like the idea of a new TCM. Gearstar will take my tranny, upgrade it and upload an optimized TCM tune.

I didn't know that RPM doesn't make a 6L80e but that does not change my experience with Gearstar. They are about an hour form me as well and thats why I used them, but in the end it didn't matter because they made BS excuses on why they wouldn't stand behind there product. They're happy and willing to take your money and tell you what you want to hear but are not willing to stand behind there products when something goes wrong.

No I don't have a boost gauge yet and the pulley is 3.625 whipple sed it would be about 8# of boost so I'm going off of what they told me

The 8# claim is based on 5.3L. All of the 6.2L trucks with Whipples using the 3.625" pulley on this site have been right around 5.5-6#.

On my boss’s truck with the 6.2L, LS9 camshaft, 1.875” primary headers and a 3.125” pulley, he is seeing about 11lbs of boost. With the same set-up and a 3.375”, he was getting about 8 - 8.5lbs.
