Default F.I. guys, did you descreen maf? or not?

i was just wondering if any of you guys removed the screen of your maf after going fi, and did it help out? or just hurt mileage and not make any extra power?

No the screen is there for a reason, leave it in.. However some guys have done it.. I opt to leave it there

Don't remove it. Its one of those 'performance enhancers', much like the tornado... The screen is there to smooth out the airflow so that it flows over the resistor uniformly to get a more accurate reading. By descreening it, you're removing that added accuracy.

I descreened the MAF on my friends truck but he is in SD tune so just ue the MAF for IAT.

I just use my MAF to hold the air cleaner lid and the air tube together. lol

I have removed the screen and have left it on - On N/A setups and have not noticed a difference... Most fo the time I remove it, it is just to clean it out... People with K&N filters put to much oil on, dirt starts piling on
