Default F.I. guys, did you descreen maf? or not?

i was just wondering if any of you guys removed the screen of your maf after going fi, and did it help out? or just hurt mileage and not make any extra power?

Don't remove it. Its one of those 'performance enhancers', much like the tornado... The screen is there to smooth out the airflow so that it flows over the resistor uniformly to get a more accurate reading. By descreening it, you're removing that added accuracy.

I have removed the screen and have left it on - On N/A setups and have not noticed a difference... Most fo the time I remove it, it is just to clean it out... People with K&N filters put to much oil on, dirt starts piling on
