Default Fastest Times With Flowmasters and a Radix?

Curious, what the fastest someone has gone with flowmasters and a radix?

I got a new personal best today (12.21 at 110), but I had to cut my testing short because they closed the track early.

I was hoping to drop the exhaust and see what difference it made. Today was the last day they were open for 2010........

What are your shift points, and what is your IDC%?

Nice times you're putting down. I'm assuming that you're AWD with 4.10's? What kind of tire are you running?

I don't have a Flowmaster, but my times are in my sig. (had 3.73 gears then).

Probably true. I guess I'm old school. I love the sound of them. I've seen lots of discussions about them not flowing very good, etc, but when I asked an engineer over at Flowmaster about that his response was they won't flow as well as a straight through muffler design, but they will work as good if not better if many cases due to the scavenging effect they produce. He did say that they need to be sized according for this to work. In other words, no 3" pipe on a stock 305....

I was willing to give up a tenth or two if they don't work as well so I bought them. I do intend to find out how restrictive they are next spring.

So if no one is using these on a radix powered truck, how about has anyone tried dropping their exhaust and what were the results? I have cats on mine so I would be curious about the results after the cats.....

6200 on the 1/2 and 6100 on the 2/3. Injector Duty Cycle is just barely reaching 100% on the 1/2 and a few % points lower on the 2/3. I'll probably be adding Meth Inj to it this winter so that problem should be alleviated along with a little more octane.

Yes, AWD and 4.10's. Stock wheels and stock tire size: Tires are P275/55R20 Yokohama Parada Spec-X's and they were spinning. 60 foot was 1.70.

I'm pretty sure flowmasters have been proven to actually decrease horsepower... If your stuck on that sound, I would go with some e-cutouts.

I love the sound. No cutouts for me this is my daily driverway more street then anything else. I thought my times were pretty much in line with the fastest radix trucks. 5500lb race weight and minimal mods. No efans, stock tb/j-tube, stock wheels and tires, no meth, full exhaust with cats and that run wasn't on a full cooldown (30 min cooldown after driving 50 miles).

I guess well find out inthe spring.

I ran a 12.87 with a SINGLE flowmaster 40 series single in single out. This was definitely not the best combination for the truck, but its what I had on it when I put the blower on. This was in my crew cab z71 LT full interior, approx. 5800lbs stock 6.0 with a 215 224 114 isky cam and small obx headers. I have since went to dual 2.5" super 40's that are decently quiet, no drone at all, and have the flowmaster sound that I really like. When I still had the blower, it felt quite a bit stronger after going from single 3" in with the stock exhaust piping to the dual 2.5". I would say it would have picked up a tenth or two. This was all on 6psi, really woke up at 8psi, probably in line with your times at 8psi.

I love the way my flowmaster sounds too, but I lose .23 running through it. I bought some cheap cutouts through summit.

I've got one too, 3.5" right at the end of my downpipe. Actually, I don't notice much of a difference other than the noise. My hpt torque reading really close between the two also, not that that is the most accurate measurement, but thats the only testing I've done.
