Default Few turbo/fuel questions

The truck is a 2000 RCSB with a 408 with WCCH LSA heads, Holley Hi-Ram, 102mm Nick Williams TB, Pat G cam (231/239, .598/.610, 116+1), 62# injectors, Aeromotive 340lph in-tank with Kenne Bell Boost-a-Pump, 4L80e, FTI 3600 single disk converter, and 05 efans.

I was going to do pro-charger, but turbo just seems to be a better fit and more fun of course. I am just having trouble picking the correct turbo for my setup, I am thinking of an 80-88mm turbo.

I just have a few questions....

There is a lot of contradicting info and I am just trying to figure out what size/brand turbo I should go with. I don't really want to spend $2k for a turbo but, if that is what I HAVE to do then I will figure it out. I was looking at some of the eBay turbos, some seem to be good products and others not so great.

Now for the fuel system... Would a -6 feed and return be big enough? Will the single 340lph with a boos-a-pump be sufficient, or should I do dual pumps? Would 62# injectors suffice, from what I have been reading these will be border line.

What about waste gates/BOV? Would a 44mm Waste gate and 50mm BOV be good enough to run?

Sorry, I know all of these questions have been asked, but there are 200 different answers and every ones setups are different. I appreciate the help before hand!

What are your end goals HP/ET wise? Example, if you were using this setup to tow you'll want to size the turbo on the smaller side of things. If you are looking for all out, then go big.

Id look into the Borg Warner turbos. Lots of options with compressor/turbine/AR sizes.

It will be a weekend cruising/track truck. I want to keep it around 700-800 to the wheels. I was looking at the s480, pt88, or the pt5088. And also the ebay GT45R or the CX Racing T88...

I thought I was crazy by putting a 69mm turbo on a 6.0. Do not put a 63mm compressor(t88) on a 408. I would want to upgrade the fuel system. How much depends on your goal, and the type of fuel you would like to run.

Check out atomic on here. He has done pretty well on a turbo 408 IIRC.

If budget is a concern do a cast borg s480, but it would be better if you get the big (96mm) turbine. Do not put an ebay turbo on an engine you care about.

Get rid of that boost a pump gadget and upgrade to dual intank pumps. I personally like the walbro400s and 450s. -6 may work but I would want a -8 feed, -6 will be fine for the return. Also recommend 80lb injectors.

50mm BOV is fine, but you will probably want a 50mm gate on that size engine.

The truck isnt really on a budget, I have spent this much might as well do it all right. I want to get the best turbo and still get a reasonable price. I am just starting to get in on the turbo thing. I will be reading up on turbine and a/r size and what would be best for my setup. I like the s480 I was thinking of getting one with the race cover. Is the billet wheel really worth the extra $$$?

I spent 5 hours reading your posts on fuel systems and dual pumps. I am going to get rid of the boost-a-pump and do the dual pumps. I was thinking I would just do 2 Aeromotive 340s since I already have one brand new one. Do you see any issues with that? Upgrading the fuel line is simple enough and fairly inexpensive, so it makes sense to do it while I have the pump out. Of course I will upgrade the wiring for the pumps.

A billet wheel flows the exact same as a cast wheel of the same size. Borg only makes a casting for the high volume wheels, so all the low volume stuff is billet since its more cost effective.

You could do 2 aeromotive 340s or any other pump...I would personally keep that one you have in there and add a walbro 450 as the other one.

That is a good idea... I will get a walbro 450 to in addition to the 340. your thread on the dual pump setup is a huge help.

I have a buddy that is going to get rid of a PT Pro Mod 88 turbo. Have any of you ran or know anyone that has ran one?
