This guy is all over the place with what he wants. Kinda hard to narrow it down for him if he's unsure about what he wants.
For 13K I would buy a tranny for $5K, get some fuel supporting mods for $2K, upgrade the cooling system for $1K, spend $1500 on valve train upgrades and cam, and spend the last $4500K on a turbo system.

Youre in the vast minority that havent had problems with their G80, youre living on borrowed time or you never beat on your truck except in a straight line. Most people blows theirs playing around where traction is different between the two wheels. I blew mine taking off at WOT on the side of the road with a tire in the grass, other people in water and others nailing it around corners.
No ****, an 06 already has the big radiator and efans

and you probably run in 4hi at the track. parish's while in the 10's lasted a long time in 4wd also. but one good 2wd play day and it was done.
i installed a 130ish g80 from a friends truck into mine when my detroit went out (due to broken axle), at the time i was 2wd (removed all the awd parts). i broke it and never went to the track. the walls that separte the side gears broke off. so now i went back AWD and a trutrac. i say its better to replace just it now instead of it and probably gears later.

Damn theres so many ways you can go.
Is this truck going to be a drag truck or a daily driver?
I would do like mentioned earlier and do a cam/springs and either Blower or a turbo with 10- 15 PSI.
And have a good trans built along with a triple disc precision industries converter.
Hell run the 5.3 you have , and if or when it gives up, you can pick another one up for around 500$ and then put some forged pistons in it and turn up the boost more!
Dont forget you'll need Gauges, fuel system upgrades, Exhaust .
You dont need to blow all your cash to make big power with an LS engine!!!!
