no its a 5.3l with stock bore but stroked. meaning it has a 4" crank vise 3.622" crank. longer crank = more displacement and more torque.

What engine are you talking about? 5.3L with a 4" crank is a 359, not very common...

I never said it was common just said it was out there. If you go this route you keep the smaller bore which in therory for a ton of reason I have read should yield better milage. Somethng about flame front and flame travel distance and propagation wing more efficiant with a smaller bore. But either way it would keep him from haveing to buy a new block. Just build what you have. I knew it was around 360ish just didn't feel like finding a cal with my iPhone to do the math.

I say start simple, swap in a 6L and drive it around for a few months and see how you like the power, then go from there.
I'm starting to sound more and more like Brian!!

My 06 bone stock 5.3 with a D1 Procharger and supporting fuel mods netted 440 rwhp on a dynojet then blew up 2 days later...............lol!

I'm sure if the tuneup was done correctly it would have made somewhere in the 400-425 rwhp range and lasted much longer. Thanks MTI in Houston Texas!
