Default Forced induction with emissions???

Just curious as to how any of you FI guys, especially turbo, are passing emissions tests? Whether visual or actual computer test.

Thankfully we only have visual in my county but just thinking for down the road.

In CA, the STS and Procharger P-1SC and at least some of the Maggies are CARB legal. Front mounts may pass the sniffer but will fail the visual inspection (no CARB exemption sticker). I hear it's $20k+ and a ton a red tape to get a CARB exemption status so only the big companies can afford to tie up that much money each specific application.

I have to get my truck smogged next summer so everything will have to some off. That should eat up a couple weekends...

mine will pass the obd-2 test but would fail the visual if the tech actually looks under neath the truck and notices the cats missing
most countys in tx dont have smog regulations if mine ever fails all i do is drive to the nearest couty outside of tarrant county and get it inspected there..

I had to pass a mobile sniffer test or a treadmill dyno driving test for several years with the Maggie on and had no problems. They changed the law last year and all I have to do is pass the OBDII scan and visual inspection now.

One good thing about having a long wheelbase AWD in CA is you get an automatic exemption from the dyno test. They still do the visual and run it at 2500+/- rpms to test the emissions.

I have to change my tune from speed density FI to Mass air N/A to pass an OBDII test, which can be a pain. I have cats on my truck so it passes a visual, but the last time I went they didn't even look under my truck.

In metro IL over 8000 GVW gets the gas cap tested, and sniffed as above. No visual, no dyno. So all we need with an HD truck is a good gas cap and working cats.
