When will this happen? Are they going to start comparing tunes to stock? This could make emissions testing a whole lot more difficult to get past BAR and smog. No more making stuff look like its there and working...

The Federal Government is going to adopt the California Emissions standard soon. This would bring all 50 states under the same standard.

There is a Ny times article about it if you google it.

They don't expect anything to happen by 2012.

First off. Obama needs to get his nose out of the automotive industry. The largest non regulated polluters are in the shipping industry, Airplanes,Semi's,large Freight ships that run on Diesel engines. Anyone who honestly thinks that cars with emissions systems that are factory equipped are the problem is really looking though a narrow view of the world.

Bush had a plan for this that was supposed to happen by 07. Never went though.

I find it very hard to grasp that middle of nowhere USA is going to have a way to enforce commiefornia's smog. Illinois had those stupid dyno rollers for about 3 years before they found out that it was a huge waste of tax dollars.

There are several other states that learned the same thing. This is another politicians play to try and get the tree hugers to embrace him.

I could go on all day about this but I won't

What I will say is 90% of tuned/modded trucks out there if the tuner is not a complete retard (yes there are retards that tune) the vehicles actually run cleaner than stock when you get a complete fuel burn the hydrocarbon's are lower the emissions less.

Be that as it may, it will come true.....and sooner than you think.
