The oil pan is pretty thick. I'd say about 1/4". We drilled and tapped it with a pipe thread.

we also worked our asses off for another day. Here's the results.

All torn down. Tubing internal cleaning and some odds and ends finish welding so we can get her running this weekend!

Also had a friend that is giving out free skull and flame jobs to get some experience. I think it turned out pretty neat. Its kinda gonna be a suprise to the customer.

Anything you want to send me, right now i'm on a skull/flames kick. Staying away from traditional orange/red flames, i'd like to work with blue, purple, and green. I'm practicing freehand at the moment i've always been a stencil/mask guy, PM with what you got and what you want it on we'll work something out.

You guys will not believe the luck we had today. The first start up netted us an oil leak at the oil cooler lines. After taking them back off we found that there wasn't a gasket put back in after removing the pan for return oil line. It was no where to be found. I got a new one from the dealer and put it in. Tried to crank it again and still got a leak. This time from the pan seal to the block. right above the oil filter. I got out my 10mm ratchet and went to snug up the bolts some more and the back corner one was a bit loose. I gave it a couple spins and promptly snapped the corner of the pan off! We took everything back off to weld the pan up and found the missing oil cooler line gasket. It fell onto the pan rail and was holding it from sealing. Thats why it cracked the corner off as well. Anyhow we got that bitch welded up and now it is sealed

Cliff notes; worked out some gremlins.

moment of zen!
