front mount turbo vs. magnacharger for DD
We all know about the top end power capabilities of both. Which of the two, in your experience, is superior for a daily driver (and as far as the turbo goes, I'm talking about something very reasonable such as a T70 or T76)? On the highway, which will give me more cruising power over NA? Which one will go into boost easier? If you could have either for free, which would you choose? I've asked a few people some of these questions via PM and everyone seems to have a different answer. Some say the turbo is no good on the highway, some others say it's great. And I've seen some complaints about the Radix (not necessarily the TVS) on here about the fact that it takes a lot of throttle to get it to go into boost.

It is all going to be a preference thing.. I will say i love the procharger, but he might say man what a POS... The magi has been proven over and over again, that it is a excellent put together kit, is the most complete, makes a world of diff.. The blower will have no spool time, you put your foot down and the boost is there.. The turbo will always have to spool unless you run one that is super small. Or you could always stack turbos, run a tiny one then a bigger one, have just about instant boost.. It is all how and where, when you want that power to come in.. The blower might come on harder sooner while the turbo comes on lighter, but longer and harder depending on what one you use....

My Radix 112 was great and made a ton of power down low but seemed to run out of steam up high, also it was pretty prone to heat up when it was hot outside. But I must say overall it was very good for a DD and would have been better with all of the supporting mods.

Thanks for your input. Bottom line is that I want a setup that's going to kick *** not only at WOT but at part throttle as well. This is pure DD guys. I've been told the supercharger will work good with my compression.

That is a good bit of comp for a blown app.. I would keep the boost low, or play a hard roll on timing.. What stall speed you have?. A blower will like the gears more then a turbo, as a turbo likes a higher gear to tug against, kinda keeps it loaded.. Also the turbo isn't a COMPLETE kit..

If I HAD to, I could always put stock 317s back on, but I really dont want to. I have a 4l80e and it's corresponding stock converter in the waiting, from all I've read on here the stock 80e converter works very well with boost.
