if i had to do it all over again,, i would. Only thing i would have changed is goin straight to a 4L80E. and i luv my turbo
I tow alot with my truck so the turbo helps and doesnt create near the heat of a blower or heat soak.
But i dont see how goin with a blower would be bad,, just goin to heat soak and got to get rid of belt slip.

depends on your boost limit... if all you want to run is 6psi then a lil 60mm would be all you need... 10psi - look into a 67 or 70mm.. 14psi and look into a 76mm.
you dont want to get too small of a turbo but then again you dont want to get one thats too big..
its all a vicious circle.
