Default fuel pump

For you guys running a S/C or turbo, can the fuel pump and/or regulator be changed on an '05 and up? I am having starting issues (will not start at all now) but my fuel pressure is right everywhere. It had an intermittent problem and while this was going on I could check it while running. Now it won't start at all. Dealer said the FPR, pump, and filter are one unit on the '05. I read that the tune could be off on the start-up side of things, but it ran great for months after my tune. 6.0, STS kit. Any ideas? Thanks for any input!

do you have the right pressure while trying to start now? if it started out as an intermittent problem my first suspect would be electrical.

Thanks for your input! I haven't had time to check the pressure now, but I will. I have used the priming terminal in the fuse box before and applied 12volts to it and that used to work but now does not. It is contradictory that the pressure was right everywhere but applying pressure helped, however that was the case. The truck has low miles but anything is possible....

Update on my problem. I have ZERO fuel pressure at start-up. Key on engine off is reading "0" on the gauge. I can hear the pump running but no pressure. I can apply 12volts to the prime terminal or to my boost-a-pump and hear it run but still no pressure. So, is the check valve or "ball" bad inside my fuel pump? Again, can just the pump be replaced on an '05? Thanks for any help!!

you can upgrade the pump without having to buy a whole new module, contact Blownchevy about the pump they use with the magnacharger kits. not trying to sound like a smart *** but are you sure theres gas in the tank? maybe the guage is wrong.

I called MagnaCharger and I am getting their kit. Yes, you can replace just the pump, you just do a few mods. I have talked to a couple people now that have had the same issue. You hear it run but no pressure. Good point on the empty tank, but it is over 1/2 full. I put 5 gallons in it out of a can just to be sure and the gauge moved respectively. I think I'll do the bed-slid-back way vs. the tank drop method on replacement. Thanks for your input!!
