Alot of ppl dont know this, but walbro offers more than just one 255lph. The #gss340, #gss341, and #gss342. Both my intank pumps have internal check valves. I never have problems with pressure bleeding off

Was this pump new/used? The fuel hose that you used going from the pump to the nipple on the bucket, where did you get it from? I know the walbro 255 ls1 kit comes with a hose but is to short to use on the truck fuel buckets. Maybe the hose has a slight cut in it where it bleeding off pressure. Did you use hose clamps to fasten the hose on the nipple of the pump and the nipple of the bucket? Make sure you get them pretty snugged, but dont kill em. Just some things to try.

my pumps dont have any valves or anything and i lose all fuel pressure in a few seconds without the pumps running, but as soon as i hit the key to start my truck the pressure goes right to where i have it set...
but i guess two 044 pumps will pump alot more fuel than a single 255 so itll in turn prime alot faster.
