Genes Vettes
Has anyone ever run across genesvettes.com. I was looking around at turbo stuff for my truck and came across their website. The are claiming with their custom rear mount turbo and tuning that they get 30 mpg? Also say they are working with Chevy on this one. I don't get, I looked all over the site and searched these forums and I can't see whats different from their setup to say, a sts setup. Soooo is it real, or just snake oil?

interesting.......no pictures, and you have to buy a new vehicle so it seems...
sounds like they have a deal with that dealer in WA to put STS on new vehicles and the dealer will warranty them to me.
a company no one has heard of coming up with the $$ for carb numbers??

stock lsx vette will get mid to high 20's if you use 6th and drive like an old man......
but to give a lil more info......my 03 that had the STS setup.....drove it home from richmond va back to ny after a drag event where someone else broke, their car went in my trailer and street tires went on my car and I wound up following the trailer home, pretty much drafting it and using 6th at say 65.....I got like 26 or 27 (which for a 700+ rwhp car I was happy with at the time) not much of an improvement over stock. As a comparison my blower car which is speed density but pretty much all else the same I've seen 23-24 mpg driving like grandpa. Of course with a car that makes more power, it takes more fuel and I can put that into the low teens single digits VERY quickly with some use of the gas pedal.
I don't buy the MPG ratings personally, my results definetely differed.
my truck stock and with the blower gets up to 13-14 mpg highway 30 my ***... its over 6000 lbs, its a brick thru the wind, a much more parasitic driveline etc. no way would it be able to match a vette for economy taking that into account

Well I agree with all of you guys, but how can they advertise this stuff? Especially them working with GM. I searched all over the internet and can't find any real information on them. I would think anyone of the reputable tuners here would know how to get 30mpg out of these trucks, if it was possible.
