Default Good Cam for force induction

Looking for a good cam to go with my Supercharge Denali 6.2 with stock internal.
I prefer smooth idling

With FI, you want 0* of overlap (or close to it). A supercharge needs an exhaust bias that's decent sized.

Take a look at things like:

Comp Cams XR269HR-14 : 218/224 .527/.534 114lsa
Or a 2002 Z06 cam

A ISKY 212-221@.050, .561''/.575'' on a 115* would work well. Like said above the Zo6 cam wouldn't be a bad choice either, it would have a little smoother idle, but I think the ISKY would make more power.

Ohhh. I like the looks of that Isky.

What are the stock springs good for? I was thinking .550.

Well, see, you just use the pistons to nudge them back closed.

You should rephrase that by saying you want a cam with little overlap since every cam has overlap in it. Its how much you want and are willing to put into a setup that matters.

What about all those cams with negative overlap?

BTW, the '(or close to it)' covers me. I had my lawyer check it out.

To say negative overlap is not really true. The only overlap that stays constant is that at seat timing. The negative overlap you are talking about is the value @.050.

You should always look at the overlap at .006 as well.

I am going to recommend a crane low lift 212 218 531 531 114 if you want to go a off the shelf route.Only cause I know that particular motor seems to work well with that camshaft.
Or go with a custom grind maybe speced by rick if you want.It may cost a little more but, probably work better for you.
What ever you get don't worry about bigger duration higher lift a smallish cam under 220 duration and 550 lift on both ends.Keep lobe sep. in between 114 to 116 and you will get by just fine.
