Well you can see in two of my video's when punching it from an idle, the 60 spools MUCH faster. I've got a 2600 rpm stall converter and 4.56 gears. If someone has a stock converter and 3.92 gears you could probably see where the 60 is gonna be the ticket.

I will also go along with what was said above about the T70. The GT67 makes more power, so it feels, than the 60 at the same boost levels of 6 or 7psi. The 60 just gets there quicker in the rpm range.

I just swapped my T-60 for a MP T-70 on my 4.8 2 days ago. So far, I'm really liking it. I don't think anyone has put this turbo on a 4.8 before, but a lot of guys on the turbomustang.com board are running them on 302's. I was trying to get a little better spool out of my truck. 4.8 just suck on low end w/out boost, especially when you put a 02 Z06 cam in them. Once it gets some boost, its great, but getting there is another story. I need about a 3k stall (got a DACCO TB now) and possibly a different cam. Didn't really gain anything on the bottom end, like I was hoping, but didn't really loose anything either, and it feels stronger and smoother once it does spool. I kept the same .68 A/R exhaust housing I had on my 60, it's helps the spool, but I think it cause the little bit of boost spike i see on the shifts (about 1.5 psi). I think this setup would be MUCH better if I was down at sea level (4800ft here), then the 4.8 would have enough power preboost to get it to boost faster. Make any since?

I'm also putting a MP T-70 on the 5.3 going into my dads '72 and a 406 small block in a 69 Camaro. I like them and the price is good too can be had for around $600 brand new most places.

I did a little checking and my memory was a little off on what hp the MP T-70 will support. It rated to 850hp at the flywheel i would assume .

Keep in mind guys, the MP T70 is a 69mm unit. Also the 67 will outspool and outpower the MPT70. We did back to back testing of both units for a company.

Good info. Looks like I'll be hanging on to the 67 a while longer.

I got the GT67 with the intentions of upgrading to a 6.0 or a 370 shortly after, but the 4.8 is hanging on. Plus it was too good of a deal to pass up. I have the .81 exhuast housing. Is it too big for a 4.8? Sure, but I can leave at redline and with a 2 step in the works I don't see why I couldn't build a ton of boost on the line. I don't hit full boost until 2nd gear, but there's not much load on my truck in 1st gear with the 4.56's. My cam isn't the most boost friendly either. I'm going to blow up the 4.8 by upping the boost, so at that point I think the GT67 will be fine for me. For your 5.3 though at 8psi I would look into getting the .68 A/R exhaust housing if you don't want to lose lowend.

im not up to speed when it comes to housing ratios. What ratio does my 60-1 have and if i just have it upgraded to a 67 will it kinda of be the best of both worlds as compared to the 60-1 im running now? i also want to up my boost to 10 psi soon.
