Im really looking into the gt2-3 cam to put in my 4.8 turbo build but cant find a hole lot of info on how it runs with a turbo setup in these trucks, Im just wondering if anyone has any idle clips of this cam in a 4.8 or 5.3 and give me any likes or dislikes on it before I go ahead and order it. thanks.

 

It will idle like a stock cam. It is a great FI cam and will work well.

 

Yep, idles like stock, awesome top end, just keeps pulling. Mpg were unchanged.

 

Great little cam for a blower. It will make decent hp with the turbo as will anything but there are better choices out there IMO. Something closer to a single pattern and tighter lsa will come on harder, be more responsive out of boost, have a little more sound, and still make the power up top.

 

Speed inc has a sale going on right now, I just ordered a TU1 for my 5.3 but I think the TU0 would be perfect for you

 

yep good blower cam for shure...stock idle.

 

Yeah iv done some checking around and calling and most people are specing vary close to this cam, I think i could use a little tighter lsa myself but the rest of the spec are vary close to what im looking for, from what I read on average 20 psi of intake boost has close to 30 psi on the exhaust side so im thinking a little split might be good for hi rpm power. This cam looks vary close to the ls6 cam just a little bigger.

 

my hi rpm power is insane...it just keeps on pulling and pulling...

 

I have this on a blower set up and the thing i noticed the most was the top end. bud8fan is right....it seems like it just pulls forever.

 

Have a buddy that had the gt2-3 cam in a 6.0 with an sts 67mm turbo kit and it ran very well on 9-10psi on meth.


There is a lot more choices of cams nowadays though since the gt2-3 came out.
