Default Heat wrap longevity?

I was curious if heat wrap and heat blanket is worth it for longevity or will it come unwrapped or start to rust? I like a clean engine bay and would want to wash it out couple times a year.

I was thinking a nice ceramic coating or other type of coating instead of wrapping.

I have alot of stuff wrapped and have wrapped many of friends parts.
We have no problems cleaning it with a pressure washer. just dont stick the tip real close or it will blast out the carbon filler.
As far as longevity, Its something I dont even think about.

These engine bays are super clean at all times. We are real picky.
Tip, use
Chemical bros, Silk shine Chemical bros, Silk shine
instead of any armor all type crap.

Its water based, and does not leave any greasy **** behind.

Looks like this at all times, for months.

If you put it on the exhaust it will be very brittle after a few weeks and will basically crumble if you touch it. A pressure washer would tear it to shreds at that point.

Do you have a suggestion on another type of heat reduction product? I was thinking maybe some sort of ceramic coating or powder coat or just something that will reduce heat to other parts and lasting a long time? I'm going to be cleaning the engine bay with some grease lightning/super clean/purple power and a pressure washer. Not planning on doing it very often and not close to parts.

Ceramic coating is good. I would either not wash the area around the wrap, or just rewrap every few months...

Well def. don't want to rewrap. That wrap would be the part to get the dirtiest the quickest. I'll look into some ceramic coating.

I used the titanium lava stuff from dei and havent had any issues with crumbling. i had it on my s10 turbo kit for over a year and took the kit off the truck and its been in my garage for a while so its seen all kinds of movement and being picked up and put in a pile and the wrap still looks really nice and complete.

I use the Lava wrap on the hot parts on my truck and it usually last a few years before it really starts to break down like Atomic described. The cheap eBay fiberglass stuff does only last a short time though. Buy the good stuff.
