Help with a maggie mp 1200

OK ok so this is what you got. It probably doesn't take much to warp the castings or rotors...Can it be salvaged and used again? Quite possibly. I'd still send it back to Magnuson when you can afford shipping.

Whatever you want to do is up to you, but you surely can’t expect anyone to set back and tell you to go for it after the unit has obviously went through hell. In the past, Magnacharger has told people they don’t even recommend people having the cases powdercoated, so that should give you some idea as to what they think about heat being applied to the case when it involves the sort of internal clearances your dealing with here. If you just want to play with it and can scrounge up some spare parts here and there on the cheap, OK, but if it’s going to cost you any sort of real money I would head towards the nearest dumpster. And before you get upset, think about why you posted this burnt hunk of metal on a website forum.

Oh all ye of little faith it will be brought back to life and i have 0 dollars in it just an engine swap labor 12 hrs wow. My friend bought it for the 6.0 under it and yes i will agree that it does look hideous as all get out. I also have already found a 78 mm j tube and all bearings and seals plus oil for a little under 200 dollars. The color is black and looks like a coating to me could be an epoxy.

I figure around a 1500 still need a few thing for fuel delivery and a inter cooler set up plus tune. Hey superchargedss hook me up with 3800 and i will do it your way that way your happy. This 5.3 wont last forever so if it craps out it will give me a reason to go to a 408 or some thing down the road. Thanks trever1t for the good luck.

Bearings are bearing and seals are seals. I'm sure Maganacharger doesn't want anything to do with rebuilding this because of the potential liability of it not working. What I would do?... Fine the PN or sizes for the bearings and buy them first online some where. Install them, clean it all up put the compressor together and see how it spins. If it spins freely, and nothing binds or rubs, then find the rest of the parts you need to put it together and give it a go. Consider it a sciences project with nothing to loose and spend accordingly.
