Default High IATs - Causes and solutions?

Everyone chime in with their opinions as to why this might occur and possible solutions. I have meth, air is pulled from the fender well, not the bay, e-fans, every cooler imagineable (flow tested apperently not heat soaking)...R/

What are your EGT's?

Too much timing retard can do that. An undersized turbo can do it. Pushing a turbo above the "efficient" level of boost. Check to see what your boost is at the turbo housing vs. the engine.

Umm... What is too hot in your book? My Turbo runs right at 15-20 Degrees above ambient temp almost 100% of the time, under hard accel it will jump to maybe 40 degrees above ambient. So, in florida 95 geree heat that is usualy and IAT of 115 cruising to 135 under hard accel...

I also have some universal 10inch E-Fans on my actual Intercooler though so, that helps A LOT!!! It bring the temps back down real quick after a run and sitting in traffic.

Oh and I don't even have meth on my truck...

AND FYI: my EGT's are about 1,100 cruising at 75mph but, under hard accel 0-60 they will hit around maybe 1,300 max...

My turbo is a .61 Compressor (Intake) and .81 Turbine (Exhaust)...

He's running an MP122 guys

How high dhpro?

Low timing can contribute to high IATs as mentioned about. Spinning it too fast would also skyrocket the IATs.

Where is you sensor with respect to the meth nozzle?

Good question...I'll double check, but shudnt have been moved...I'm guessing I have an I/C issue. R/

MP 122 spun to 10-12lbs but it has I think a 2.8" pulley with an overdrive crank pulley.

Street -130-145 cruise -3 gears = 180-190 degree's. Timing has to be pulled due to the heat or else its pinging down the street.

Truck has plenty of down low power but lack peak hp due to heat.

There is really no fix except running 100% methenol. It has windshield wash now but it helps very little.

There has to be something with the intercooler that isnt correct. The only time I see IAT's like that is when there is a problem with the intercooler system at some point. Have you checked the intercooler fluid temp at cold and compared them to running temps? It almost sounds like the heat exchanger or intercooler core isnt connected into the system or is plugged.

The only other thing that would cause this is a restriction in the exhaust system.

How long does it take for the IAT's to climb on a cold start?

I fought high IAT's as well.. I have a MP112 at 8psi and an alky control kit with a .15 nozzle. Prior to the meth, my truck would run like crap when the engine/blower/temperature outside got hot. I am talking like a 1 second on the 1/4 on hot days.

I have found that the radix combo likes more timing and less boost. I am running 21 degrees right now. When we are the dyno, we ran up to 24 degrees with no gain in power. While tuning going from 18 degrees to 21 gained almost 20hp. IAT's with the meth were in 140 range after a full run.

Seems like you've covered all the obvious reasons plus you've got some of the best tuners in the business.

Is this the cam specs that your engine currently has? 214/218 .559/.562 @ 114lc

This seems like a valve event issue. Maybe the cam timing is backed up?
