Default high oil preesure + turbo

My engine at wot makes 80+psi of oil pressure, and it is pushing oil through the seals on my turbo. I have a .050 nitrous jet for an oil restrictor in the feed line, but I don't know how small of a jet I should use to stop the leaking seals. Currently I have a .

Also, since it is slowly getting worse, should I send the turbo back to get it rebuilt, or will it fix itself if I slow down the oil enough. It is turbonetics p-trim 76mm with journal bearings.

Im gonna guess ur seals are shot or drain is stopped up. I run around the same oil pressure and run a -4 feed line with no restrictor and have no problems.

It would have to be the seals, because I took out the drain line and it was clean inside. The turbo has only been on the truck for 4-5 months now. When I first put it on with no restrictor, and -4 line it smoked a little bit, but got worse the longer I drove it. Then I put in the restrictor with a .07 jet, it lasted a couple of weeks, then had to go with a smaller jet over and over until now.

Today I used silver solder and soldered a piece of .025 welding wire into a jet, and then pulled out the wire, just to try it. I drove it for about 45 minutes, and no smoke, no oily smell, nothing. I will get a new jet with the same sized hole, and probably after christmas send the turbo to be rebuilt.

Sounds like a winner to me. Good luck with it.

The seal is nothing more then a cast metal ring between the oil sling cavity next to the bushing and the turbine. Really nothing to "ware" out or damage. Most of the oil should get pushed out of the bushing and caught in the sling cavity and then drain out of the turbo.

Casey is correct. I took his advice and hooked up an AN-10 line for the turbo's oil drain. I haven't had a problem since. The turbo needs a BIG drain line to prevent the oil from pooling up and backing up into the seals. Oh BTW Casey, it's Jetmech. Waddup dude?

I can't speak for Casey but using the AN-8 line as a reference just helps illustrate my point. I guess saying "AN-10 minimum" would have been better.
