Default How much power will the new setup make?????

I am looking to see just how much power you guys think my new setup will make.
Here is the setup:
-408 (8:1 CR)
- S-85 turbo (1.02 housing I think)
-5"-4" down pipe, then into 5" diesel exhaust
-225 ET Performance heads
-23x/23x cam w/ right around a 600 lift
-Carb intake
-90mm tb
-75 lb injectors
-fully built 4l80e w/ triple disk PI convertor
-93 Pump Gas
-NO METH
-8# to 10# of boost

I am going to run low boost to start. I want this setup to last longer than the other one. So we will be taking it "easy" for now

So lets here them

I would guess in the 700 rwhp range. Once you crank the boost up you may need more injector. Isn't the s85 good for 1200 at the crank?

I think it is good for almost 1320-1400 crank horse power.

Hey Bud, I'd skip the 75#ers and go straight to 95s. You're going to end up their anyway, and with a versafueler, it won't affect drivability at all.

I'd also still run a little high boost -- say 14# which will be dead safe at 8:1 and add back the meth.

Why? We've pulled 75's to 940rwhp without a problem.Add a real Meth kit and it will go 1100rwhp. 75's idle clean at 800rpm,95's don't unless you lower the fuel pressure to 35-40lbs.A steady fuel pressure is easier to tune -or use just a boost reference(no vacuum)

The truck will be tuned to 15lbs for now but set to run probly 10lbs or so.When it can plant the power we can turn it up.I will not push the limit's of this setup on a dyno to impress people if it can't hook.We see it all the time, looking for a Dyno Queen # that can't do crap on the road except spin or pop head gaskets. Start slow and enjoy the vehicle first.Turn up power as it is needed.

Is that NA? -- that works out to a BSFC of .47 at 80% duty cycle and assuming 20% powertrain loss. I can't get anywhere near that low with the turbo.

Using a BSFC of .6 at 80% IDC and that HP level, works out to 95lb/hr at 58psi of fp. My last actual BFSC was .64 in the August heat.

Not trying to argue with you Don, just trying to understand how you're doin' it

I have a boost ref'd fpr on mine and a return style fuel system and have zero issues with idle on the 95s. I'm using a low impedance driver (versafueler) though -- I'm assuming you're using low-z as well, but just trying to be clear. It's been a long time, but as I recall my idle fuel pressure is something like 48-50 psi.

I totally agree about the stepping up process. I had zero trouble hooking at 14psi unless a brake spooled past 6psi or was in the wet -- even on the street (although I still had AWD -- no ideas with the new set up hehe )

Its a new world with 2wd Erik. I was running 12 psi and from 20-50 traction was a big issue.

I will tell you how it will go on the street with the 2WD

And watch out for curbs cause one 14 bolt axle, one rear brake assy, one caltrac bar, and two factory 20's adds up to just over $4000.00..........not that im speaking from experience Damned tig bitties
