Running the bypass to the intake does cut noise considerably but it is still kind of loud.There is deffinatly a way to put a silencer in the intake track to help keep the noise from the bypass tolerable.I jus haven't given the idea much thought.My idea of piping to the exhaust I believe would pretty much eliminate the noise though.

It seems like if you put it to the exhaust there would possibly be times that the exhaust might flow into it, causing something to melt. How about piping it into it's own mo'sicle muffler? I see guys selling OEM ones from dirt bikes on craigslist all of the time. I would still have the outlet high, to avoid water ingestion.

What kind of power are you making with your blower and 408?

What type of mufflers are you talking about?

A muffler from probably a 250 four stroke motocross bike. They are cheap because nobody wants factory, you have to have aftermarket to be cool. They are straight-through, and light weight with aluminum shells. I figured the tubing size would be similar to the bypass tube.
The kind of power I am making is the good kind. Wholesome, sticks to your ribs and keeps you full all day kind of power.

If the bypass is installed in venturie position in a Y-pipe then all should be fine.I would expect someone to keep heat in mind when selecting materials for this setup.Also I would recommend someone to use a straight thru muffler.

I like the dirt bike muffler too.I am interested to hearing results.

I'll keep you guys posted. I'm not sure exactly how I am going to tackle this noise problem yet but my first thought was to make something that would cover the bypass in a cone shape filled with sound deadening material inside. Im not sure if this will work but it seems like its worth a shot.

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought you had the bypass discharging into the atmosphere, and that is why I suggested a muffler.

Your right he is vented to the atmosphere.

Well the shop solved the problem. Its still louder than normal but no where near as loud as before. They ended up routing the bypass straight through a Stainless Works muffler and using some really high end acoustic foam with the highest absorption rate they could find. The throttle response with the throttle body moved is incredible also and the extra power I picked up is a nice bonus as well.
