Those elbows are pretty solid. You can see the ribs in them to reinforce them. It's a bending reducer.5.5"-6"

Yea the turbo OD is 5.5" There arent any filters in that size, and elbows are hard to find so I just stepped everything up to 6" which is more common. I felt like a ricer while doing it, but hey it works! The elbows are pretty solid, but you can bend them if you try.

in for the results for sure, but i would say most of the power lose is in the suction threw the filter. i have played with allot of different things on my procharger and by far with nothing on it has the best results and creates the most boost by far.the less bends and tubing you have infront of the turbine have been the best results for me next to having nothing on it. you should dyno it like that then try running the filter straight off the turbo and see if there is a difference.

There is literally no room straight in front of my turbo to try that. I had to trim a few inches off the leg of the elbow to make it fit. Next time I go to the dyno, ill try it with and without this filter setup.

It would be neat to tap the 4" pipe and 6" pipe to check for vacuum to see the difference in restriction.

a friend of mine has a camaro with a much bigger turbo and he saw 3hp loss at the 1105rwhp range with his filter. it was a spectra with a 7inch inlet, nothing huge. turbos dont like the piping, it would be better to just put the filter on the turbo. thats better than the sewer pipe.

if your intercooled the engine bay heat wont be much difference

his filter may only of been 7-8 inches long. it would work. the guy knows his stuff, hes like on of the top 25 fastest lsx setup. you have to think, if he can make over twice the power as atomic with a filter and lose 3 hp...... its the piping

if you look at the picture and see a 6" dia coupling and the filter is twice the length, its not gonna fit, it looks well over 12" long

just letting ya know its a tight fit.. i ran a 5.5"x4" 90 off my turbo and it was might tight with the 34" radiator
