Yea, and ive already trimmed my fan shroud back to the actual fan, so there is no more room possible without moving the turbo back...

I know its the piping and not the filter, I pointed that out earlier. And 1100rwhp is not twice as much as I make

i was referring to the 650hp you said you made and his 1100. i dont know what your makes set to kit but he sits around 2200hp on a higher boost level, he doesnt run a filter at that level thats for sure. 1100 was on 12lbs

Well at that point it is probably double

The 650 was before adding timing and low boost

It is interesting how sensitive turbos (and centrifugal blowers for that matter) are to the intake piping.

i just asked him and he said throw a filter on the turbo without the piping. it will give you the best possible flow with little raise in intake temp, but after the intercooler and meth you will be plenty cold.

Yea, and if it were possible I would, but look at the picture above. No room for a decent filter going straight out. Only about 6.5" from the base of the turbo inlet to the fans.

might have to get custom, try slight angle. you can weld to the turbo housing if needed

yeah it is very interesting . when i was logging last friday night i logged with the filter on and it off and we saw a 2.7 psi difference and the blower came on way quicker throttle response was night and day. i em very interested in seeing the difference on this huge intake .... lol

I did get custom, see the first post

If the pipe is large enough not to cause a restriction (which hopefully my sewer pipe is) then it will behave the same as the filter directly on the turbo.

thats right, your supercharged, your pulley spins the same speed reguardless. with a turbo it will make the same boost with or without a filter.

its apples and oranges, cant compare

well its not necessarily because of "restriction " either. it has to do with turbulence also (how the air spins into the impeller) also, thats why you see allot of turbo guys put velocity stack on the front of turbos to make the whirl wind effect.
