Intake tube upgrade

I have a filter right on my turbo. Just how the trick kits come. It seems to work well but it's sucking hot engine/rad heat. If I did something like atomic did w huge pipes and huge filter in the fender, i would think that the truck would make more power only because the iat will be much lower. My stone man logic is when the truck is warm put ur hand infront of the turbo and feel the heat. Now put ur hand over in the fender and feel ambient temp. Which is why "cai" make power. Intercooler or not.
I have a dyno and will have to test 3 setups
1 filter on turbo
2 huge intake tube and filter in the fender
3 open turbo
some back to back runs at the track would be nice too. I think the colder air from the fender going through the less resitrictive piping will be the winner.
Just give me till mid dec when school is out

cool air is always better, but if the engine bay is 140* and the air in the fender is 100*, by time it goes through the intercooler, gets hit with methanol and the injectors hit the charge with fuel right as it goes in the cylinder. the temp will not be off enought to make a difference.
atomic- you spray methanol right, log your intake temp with the sewer pipe, then with the filter on the turbo. see the difference at speed.
fyi, we usually see 120* turbo intake temps and 100* intake air temps in cylinder 1 in the motor at 90* heat cruising with a filter right on the turbo. With a intake on the turbo to the fender we see 100* turbo intake temps and 95* intake air temps in cylinder 1. thats crusing and heat soaked.
again, this is with a properly setup intercooler and turbo spec'd to the motor

the point was an intake temp 40* lower at the turbo made no difference once it hit the intercooler and made it into the intake runner. when the intercooler and turbo were setup properly.
