I posted this Jeg's unit awhile back
and noted that this is the only one I had found that actually states that it is for exactly what we use them for...the Husky ones from The Home Depot have a sticker on the bowl that warns against use with petroleum products...for air/water separation only...

You can get the same type at Grainger but they don't have the fittings in the kit, anyway the Jegs model is only a few more bucks.

I saw a discussion about the home depot ones where people said once the stone inside is completely saturated the efficency of the seperator goes way dowm. I would be interested to see if it keeps collecting oil after say a month or so. Keep us posted

The cheap ones have a mineral stone in them, the ones from Jegs look like they have the brass type in them. Kind of like an air tool muffler/filter. They should hold up to anything that they are exposed to as long as they are not bumped or smaked.
