JGS Wastegate... Need More Boost!!
#41
Make sure your wastegate is mounted the correct way, the bottom of the "puck" should be on the pressure side of the exhaust. If you can, take a pic of how its mounted now and post it up.

I had boost spikes also when the wastegate was located on the crossover so i decided to move it right on the 90 degree elbow before the turbo, solved my problem... My take on this is the waste gate needs to be closer to the turbo which should eliminate some of the back pressure, it will let the excess exhaust out before it spikes the boost.... Has worked good for me
Having it t'd off in the crossover is asking for it to overboost IMO.

ok guys ill confirm what i did for 15#'s of boost but this will not apply to everyone, I had to order a extra inner spring to go inside the primary spring that comes with the jgs wastegate and i also had to run full reference pressure off the turbo to the bottom side of the wastegate. Hope this helps anyone running into the same problems

Little update on this, i ended up putting a 50mm wastegate at the cross over and another on the log manifold before the turbo... Im running a AMS1000 and it gives me total control cause i can bleed off exhaust from both sides of the motor, this is prolly a more extreem way of doing this but it works flawless for me and in most situations you shouldnt need two big a$$ 50mm to do it but i did just because i wanted em to be the same! I can run unreferenced and get 6#'s of boost, i can put 10 psi of co2 behind em and get 10#'s of boost and the same with 15#'s=15psi behind gate.... I havent tried any higher yet but im sure my psi number will be pretty close to the boost number i wanna run... Hope this helps someone in the future
