Curious also, but Im sure every degree cooler helps out. If the turbo is sucking in air thats 100* versus 80*, gotta be a good difference in how well the IC can cool the air down.

Actually, the hotter the air going into the intercooler, the more effectively it can cool it off....but the exit temps will still be higher than if the intercooler saw cooler air to start with. A moot point but worth mentioning nontheless.

I'm a believer in the colder the better for more HP and aiding in pre-detonation. What i'm not sure of is where drag comes into play at 130MPH+ from a removed headlight. Maybe I'll get more back to back testing next year.

Also factor in the ram-air effect at those speeds vs any restriction that could cause a pressure drop in the intake charge. More drop = more boost needed to see the same pressure at the manifold, in turn making more heat to compensate the drop. The real question though is where and how much.

In any case, this is my current street and track setup. Someone needs to make us a pretty headlight intake!

That's kinda what Stock48 did, He took a stock headlight and cut the high been off, then made a funnel with some PVC and stuck it in there. Attached a 4" flex hose from that to the turbo inlet. I wish I had a pic,
