I would like to try and measure Backpressure through the holley. I want to upgrade to the 76R or billet 76 with race cover and possibly run the same turbine depending on what backpressure looks like currently

The closer to 1:1 you get it the happier the engine will be, this would be an all out max hp setup. Yours will probably be close to 2:1 which will be much faster responding but fall off at super high rpms.

Yea which probably wont effect me much since its 1/8 cars. I bet alot of these ultra street cars that are running 4.9-5.0's cant match that all the way to the 1/4 cause they are running those turbos with the gate pinned pretty much! John keesy went 5.00 an s480 and 427 so I know the bp was up there!

what do you consider suoer high rpms? I will keep this motor around 6800-7000

They cant hold that because the converter and gearing is set up for 1/8th. Depending on your converter you could start out at whatever rpm you want. Its not like the really fast guys just take off from 1000rpm, they are probably 4000+ the whole time. I would say if you run it all the time over 6200rpm you will want a bigger turbine. If this is a drag only car get the big turbine to start out with and use a looser stall converter and launch control to get the turbo where you want it before the lights say go.

All this talk about transient response is basically mute in a drag only car because there are so many different ways to get the turbo speed up before you ever launch. Once the turbo is up to speed you dont want to really change it.

one of the reason I decided to run the 75/83 along with a bunch of other 8 sec cars. He went 127 on 16psi and im sure it could have made a few more lbs, I bet my bp will be much lower then mine.

I do think i woukd benefit from a slightly larger turbine and if I had the $ I would of went with tge 87 or 92mm turbine

Ah Jarrets nova, yea its fast, but he is sort of a magician so take his accomplishments with a grain of salt

And he also is using a 6.0, not a 4.8
