Kenne Bell compressor maps/max rpm???
#2
With the 2.4 HO I had, Kenne Bell told me that it could be spun to 19,000. The Ford guys are spinning them to 21,000, but the manufacturer(who was Autorotor) said a 15,000 max. I found however that 13,000 was a realistic max, anything over that and the discharge temps went sky high 270+ degrees, and id did not take long before everything was heat soaked. Based on my results with the 2.4, the 2.8 might be good for a mild 6.0 and nothing larger. My 408 had a larger cam and ported heads. I could only get 7lbs out of the 2.4 and that was taking it up to 18500. I would have needed around a 4.0 to handle my 408.

This post here has the most info I've seen on that blower. I also haven't found any compressor maps for the Big Bore series blowers.

yeah, i've been talking to corey about his setup. Mine will be very similar. I've been trying to call KB all damn day and keep getting a busy signal. I'll keep trying.
KB says this particular blower is at it's optimal operation from 12-24lbs boost.

just spoke to Jeremy at KB. the blower can be spun safely up to 18,000rpm.
the smallest pulley they make is a 3". I've got a 7.25" crank pulley. If I shift at 6000rpm, i'm still well within the blower's limits. How much boost will that make? only time can tell. can i push that much air on 93 octane with no methanol? again, only time will tell. the pulleys are about $70 a piece so if an adjustment in boost needs to be made, no big deal.

whipple doesn't make a "kit" for our trucks. 2 years ago they told me it was coming out in 6 weeks, lol. last week they told me it was coming in a few months. I was told by i forget who that the 10 rib setup is too thick if you are using efans. i have no proof of this obviously, but that's what one of the pulley manufacturers told me. i forget who.

Sounds like the release date might be unknown for the Whipple. If you were to run a 10 rib I guess you could run pusher fans from the front of the radiator if they clear your heat exchanger set-up.

I wanted to go KB at first, but they are really hard to get ahold of, and I couldn't find many happy KB customers. You might want to check out the new Magnachargers-TVS1900, and a biger one in the works. With the luck you have been having I would stick with something proven. If the KB would be half of what it's supposed to it would really be something. How fast are you looking to run?
