Kenne Bell Pulleys are available now!
I've worked with a local shop to get some pulleys made for the Kenne Bell 2.4, 2.6, & 2.8L GM truck kits. I took delivery of the first one on Tuesday and its working great.
My original blower kit came with Kenne Bell 4.0 and 3.5 pulleys. They told me they had no other options at that point. Now we do. The first pulley I requested was a 3.25 pulley and asked for it in both 6-rib and 8-rib. We plan to make me a 3.0 and 2.75 next. Both will be available in 6-rib and 8-rib models to suit your needs.
When I first talked to the shop I asked that the new pulleys get the added feature of side walls for the belt. The company did even better than that.
The new features are:
- Steel construction (as recommended by Kenne Bell)
- Lighter rotating weight
- Belt retaining side walls
- Optional tools for tightening (stock style pin spanner or large hex nut)
- Integrated offset spacer so you can get rid of your .156 spacer from the
factory.
The company tells me cost will be about $100 a pulley. Unfortunately, they are not a sponsor here but I can put you in contact with them. I am not selling these myself. I am just happy to be able to work with them and get them some exposure for the other KB owners that will want them.
They will be able to make intermediate sizes if needed (i.e. 3.2, 3.1, 2.9, etc).
We're working on the prototype of the full 8 rib pulley kit now. Power steering pulley, alternator, and tensioner pulleys will be offered first. The 8 rib crank will follow as well. I know these are presntly offered by some other companies, but there should be yet another option shortly.
Here are a couple of pics:
The first one is the two factory pulleys with the required spacer shown.
The second and third are the new pulley in the 6-rib model that is on my truck now.

The 3.25 will definitely put me above 13 psi. Probably around 14-15 based on some quick testing I did today. I took the timing down a couple of degrees
and added some fuel (added mathmatically... to no avail) so I could go and see if I could rev it a little higher. I can get to 11psi at around 4100 rpm beofre the knock comes... and still not full throttle yet.
BTW, the 11 psi I see at 4100 RPM is only about 10,100 rpm on the blower
(3.25 pulley with 8 inch crank pulley). For reference, 6000 engine rpm would be 14,800 blower rpm with this combo.

What boost were you seeing with the 4" pulley? Right now I am only seeing 6-6.5# with a ported stock throttle body. I think a 90mm tb will help add a few psi. I want to get around 15psi to be in the efficiency range of the H-compressor. Just wondering if I need to go straight to a 3.25" or if that would even get me to 15psi?

What boost were you seeing with the 4" pulley? Right now I am only seeing 6-6.5# with a ported stock throttle body. I think a 90mm tb will help add a few psi. I want to get around 15psi to be in the efficiency range of the H-compressor. Just wondering if I need to go straight to a 3.25" or if that would even get me to 15psi?
If you want 15 psi as free-flowing as you can make it, you will need to as I've done... 100mm MAF, 4 inch air intake piping, 90mm TB (preferably ported), and at least the 3.25 pulley.
Like you, I picked the H compresor so when I nail it... its making all the power it can. I can live with running outside the efficiency range under normal driving. There was no way I was gonna leave 50+ hp on the table on the top end by getting the S series, though.
