From following this FI forum it appears to me that the turbos gain more mileage on average than superchargers do. I lost 1 mpg on highway with my Radix.

We Documented a 3-4 mpg gain on the Pontiac G8 with the L76. This was an increase from 24mpg to 27-28mpg.

One quick question for everyone... are you calculating your MPG at the gas station.. or using your instant/average fuel economy meter in your truck??

I will be the first to call BS when i see a truck go from 13/14 to over 20mpg with just adding boost and driving the same.. no offesne but once you change injectors, your instant meter becomes basically useless.. the error in your fuel injector pulse width vs flow may be off by a few percent.. which in turn throws off your meter.. it doesnt need to be off by much to show a significant difference in mpg

Now if your changing your transmission calibration, stall converter, axle ratio etc to keep the engine spinning slower. The benefit from the boosting system and low engine rpm is intended to offset the friction from spinning the engine faster.. this is where fuel economy comes in. It uses less power to boost at low rpm than it does to spin an engine to high rpm... for example at 6000rpm your engine is using 100hp just to spin.. thats alot of friction!!

Boosting helps mpg.. if you do things to ALLOW it to help mpg.. If you want more mpg, trade that 3.73 for a 3.08, calibrate yoru trans to hold a higher gear, etc..

Boosting > RPM
