Can any one shed some light on the theory behind increased mileage with SC?

I am myself quite up to date on the inner workings of and combustion proces in an angine. I canīt figure out how this increase in mileage is created.
Until I get a plausible explanation, I donīt belive it.

not really.
i was getting a flat 16 mpg from a mail order tune from waite for me.
went to charlie and let him plug in his laptop and do a performance street tune
and i went up from 16 to 19.5.
im wont say my supercharger gave me better mpg, but i will say charlie did with his software in tuning my truck.

It's 99% the tune that is giving the better gas mileage. However, you are still not saving money if you are going from 87 octane to 91.

Only methods for increasing fuel economy with a boosting system

1. False readings becuase injector calibration is off and you calibrated it to the 'false curve'
2. Actual increases because you are increasing the limit before it enters "PE"
3. Keep engine spinning slower.. (gear changes, torque converter changes, trans calibration.. etc)
4. optimize spark timing on your vehicle to get closer to MBT all the time..

Not much else has any effect.. as long as your 14.7:1 with optimal spark timing, thats as good as your going to get..
