I'll be boosting my cam'd stock bottom end LQ9 which currently has 10.5:1 compression (68cc heads). I've kept going back and forth in my mind about whether this compression was too high or not, although the cam I'm running will help bleed off some pressure. E85 gives me some piece of mind. All that said, the main issue is that even with 72cc stock heads, the compression is still 10:1. So, is half a point compression even worth the hassle of swapping heads? I don't think so.

Rebuilding my 5.3, will be running flat top pistons and 317 heads. Compression should be right under 9-1 lol opened up the ring gaps. And will be planning on running 18-20 psi as soon I get a meth kit.

I ran 12-14 psi on a stock LQ9 bottom end... I'd say that guy isn't as knowledgeable on these engines as he might think.

He knows 350s. Clearly doesn't know much about the LS. He was telling me they don't make big power and last. He will be learning soon because like I said he is VERY knowlageble about the old stuff. He is probably already doing his research on here to see what I was talking about. I told him this is the place to fix all his misconceptions about the LS. Here and LS1tech.

Here in Houston Tellez Motorsports is using a stock bottom end 5.3 running 23#'s of boost on a 88mm turbo. It's best run @ 10.01
