You don't physicaly unplug it, Just disable it with HPT.

SD=speed density
You use the MAP sensor and 02's to do most of the tuning. I'm not sure how they actually disable the MAF in HPT. I know your truck will run w/o it hooked up...mine did...oops.

Does anyone know if this is possible via mail order tunes, or does it require a lot of ***-time and logging?

You need to do a good bit of logging and tuning to get it perfect. So mail order tune would be out of the question.

See this thread.

Read the 6th post from the top.

I drive the Livernois Escalade several times a week and it has been from Michigan to Florida and back twice and is driven pretty much everywhere. We ran it with the base GT-37 turbo at 5 lbs. for 2 years and now have the 67mm turbo at 14 lbs on the stock engine and haven't had any engine related problems.

You could also contact Y2KHawk (Harlan) from LS1tech to see what he thinks. He has the kit on his Silverado.

I have one of these kits and will be installing it on a new truck within the next month or so. I'll report back then.

I will say that Rick and Livernois have been absolutely top notch to deal with so far.
