Black4.8 proved that these little 70 mm turbos can make decent power. I think w a cam and other upgrades (drivetrain and IC) I would only need another pound or so of boost to hit 600. Right? Maybe 2 lbs?

Yes with a 4.8 but you're 5.3 there is a difference. I am not the guy to ask though but Rick or Kyle or George, Atomic, Jarrett can chime in lol. I'm sure there is plenty left though just think 600's a stretch without very high boost although more fun driving around. Bigger ar maybe?

That turbo is way to small for a 5.3 and can tell by your Sig....when you see that much difference in tq vs hp

Example my last setup on 9 psi made 575rwhp on a 5.3
No meth just 93

When turbo flows enough you'll then make more power at lesser boost

I've always said there is no magic to turbo cams. They will all make more then a stock cam, just open up the valve more and longer and let the turbo fill it! I've been running the triple 12 for years and made good power with it. I just swapped out to a 227/227 112 from Jarrett, just cuz I wanted more lope to sound cooler! It feels just as strong on the street, haven't been back to the track yet, but sounds NICE!

As for your turbo size, your gonna be running out of air in the upper RPM's like George said to make much more HP but you can make more torque. Remember, HP is nothing more the torque x RPM. Just short shift it and keep the turbo in it's happy spot and use that torque!

the 70mm compressor isnt the issue, the tiny *** turbine is so if you can find a larger turbine around 80mm youll gain alot

I was about to say, that mp70 compressor flows like 85lb/min...but it's just the turbine that can't run with it at that level.

I'll also say triple 12, but I'm a little biased lol.

We have tested the triple 12 in a turbo 347 with a 76/75 Turbo. 570rwhp on 14 psi
We also had another similar truck with a turbo 347 using an ljms stage 2 turbo cam and a s482/87 made 550 on 9psi

What I can say is the triple 12 will be more fuel efficient for street driving. It has more vacuum at idle and cruising, while the ljms stage 2 cam it was almost at 0 vacuum while cruising.
I think the isky cams are specced more for heavy trucks that do a lot of street driving where as John specs his cams more for drag racing and big hp numbers.
At the end of the day it's personal preference which one you like better.
If you plan to mostly street drive your truck I would recommend the Isky cam but if you are building the truck for Mainly racing go with ljms.

It's a lot more complicated than that... Not to mention, changing multiple variables simultaneously invalidates the results of the experiment.
