Default log manifold help

Since the search function is not working, I didnt search

Im on the fence whether im going to modify a single runner and weld v-bands on to my truck manifolds or of I should just built a log for the drivers side. Im putting an LS motor in my S-10 and the truck manifolds would be a breeze for me if I just modify the primary on the drivers side closest to the firewall to clear the steering. OR... I build a log for it. So im wondering, do you use sched 40 or 80 if you are using butt weld fittings? and do you guys weld the fittings to the header flange and then to standard exhaust tubing on the other side, or do you use schdule "X" fittings into sched "X" pipe into a crossover? What size OD on butt weld fittings? and what size for a merge? Thanks in advnace!

Try this thread on LS1tech.(more scatch builders there) Most here have their's built by one of the sponsers. I could not justify the time labor and materials when Kyle @ KBracing will do it for dirt cheap. Good luck on your build. Sorry I don't have more info than that.

Sced 40 (3/16" thick) is plenty. Secd 10 (1/8" thick) would be enough but you can only get that in SS. 1 1/2" elbows for the header pipes and 2 1/2" elbows and pipe for the log. 2 1/2" 16ga exhaust pipe is plenty for the crossover pipe.
