Default magnacharger

Im currently in the process of putting together my parts list for my winter project(5.3L avy, also my first build) so naturally im looking into turbos and SC, and i stumbled across the magnacharger radix and im looking for some honest answers and opinions about these.. and other drop in SC's like whipple could apply to this as well.

how much power are you really going to get out of a SC that is made for a completely stock motor? anyone got experience with these?

what kind of track time gains are looking at?

how much can you push with this thing before it gets to the point that it WILL blow your stock motor? and will they work with modded motors so that you can push more boost than what the motor being stock could handle.. will these SC even produce enough for that to be a consideration?

are these drop-on-stock-motor SC just a quick fix for budget builders that dont have the $$$ and time to strip and rebuild, or are they legitamitly a deacent option for some good power gains?

Check This Out

350+ seems to be the norm on a completely stock engine. With headers, fully exhaust, and aftermarket cam over 500hp is attainable. If you spray meth, it'll help out even more.

With a good tune, you aren't going to have to worry about blowing these engines with a magnacharger. Engine longevity is all about your tune and fueling when you go FI. You can get in excess of 500rwhp with a TVS1900, blower cam, and full exhaust. You will need a built transmission though, your stocker won't like those power levels.

thanks for the link.. i was honestly expecting that avy to have bigger gains when i was readingn the first part before the dyno graphs.. but when i think about my avy then imagine it with an extra 100 hp and extra 100 lb-ft kinda makes me drool a bit.. then i start to think about hitting the 500 rang and i just wanna lol

so running a tvs1900,fuel injectors, cam, full exhaust, and new set of heads should land arounf 500wrhp... what about the pistons.. i have a hard time imagining that the rods arnt going to break with almost double its origional power..?

and TX Tahoe Z71 i know what you mean about the tranny.. my buddy told me i should look into the allison 1000 6spd..i doubt thats the rout ill do, but i dont know yet i havent done to much research into trannys yet. stock rear end with be fine with the 350-370 rang for hp and lbft eh? anything over 400 and should probly be swapping it out..?

Rods will be fine, most people dont start messing with those untill 700+. Assuming your avy is the normal 1500 the stock rear is ok, but with the blower It would be wise to buy a good LSD and girdle cover.

500rwhp will be attainable with those mods if you turn the boost up and add meth or have a flex fuel that can run E85.

For built transmissions, check with our sponsors on the right like FLT and Performabuilt. No need to do a custom allison swap

And don't listen to the turbo guys, they're just mad because they can't compete with our off-idle torque

Do you know if the Maggie is a MP112 or MP122? Either one can make good power on your 5.3, and if it's done well & tuned correctly, it will last. Torque is the name of the game for a daily driver, and the Maggie delivers.

Oh, and nothing screams like a Maggie at WOT. VID....
