When you let off the throttle real quick, the belt is still stretched out, and walks off the pullies. The tensioner snaps back, and ,boom!

A stock kit from Magnacharger gets a 112" belt with my setup. I still have the 3.2" pulley on mine. I am already 1/2" shorter with a 111.5" belt. I'm not even sure a shorter belt would fit and then I'd have bearings in the alt screaming at me. How do I keep the belt from sliding off? I'm using the Gatorback maybe I need to swap to the Gates?

TO ALL IN THIS THREAD:
Is anybody else who snapped a tensioner running a Gatorback belt? Maybe this is a trend and were just not putting it together? What belt were you running when you broke?

im running a gates...
my belt has never slipped off ..it just torques it so hard that it sticks in the loose pos...sooner or later it will prolly brake it thou...its only done it twice...

I've got a spare tensioner and belt in the emergency tool box I carry. I just put a new gatorback 111.5 belt w/3.1 pulley. If it happens again I'll go back to Gates and see.
