Well the new snail is on and I wanted to post a little feedback. The responsiveness of having a smaller turbo again is great. Full boost on the daily driven tune of 15psi comes in just shy of 3400 rpms. It's not track proven yet, but I have a feeling this could be the best well rounded setup for great overall power and still have the big end to run 10's even on small cubes (4.8). That will be tested soon enough, i'm guessing 17-18psi with break 10's based on the butt dyno.
Also swapped the ls6 springs for some PAC 1518's. Honestly, I can't tell much of a difference up to 15psi, the truck as always pulled good up top. Maybe when the boost gets closer to 20psi they will shine.
Anyways onto a few pictures and a light tune log getting the a/f's dialed in and adjusting the timing. The turbo comes online about 800 rpms earlier then the 76GTS, but has much better light throttle response. I think anyone running a 4.8L looking to max it out, there is no real need to go larger then this turbo unless you looking for no mid and bottom end. Your only spinning more weight with the big compressor wheel/turbine wheels and if your looking for 600-700 wheel hp, this turbo should fit the bill all day.
Pics/Video.
Sorry about the video being a little shaky, we was on our way home from dinner and I asked if she would take a quick video...I had her locked in place the best I could lol.
