Default max boost on a 5.3 and straight 93 octane

I have something in mind, other than my 427 truck, Im thinking of getting an 2012 5.3l singlecab silvy and putting a turbo kit on it, without spilling too many details now, I wanted to know how much could a 5.3 take in terms of boost PSI in its stock form, stock vvt cam and so on straight 93 octane gas.

Also help me size a turbo that could run max boost on 93 octane and still peak at about 6000rpms? compressor/turbine? assuming cost is not an issue

Hotrod magazine put 27lbs of boost to a stock bottom end 4.8.......... Obviously they used 110 octane and arp head studs they also re-gapped the top ring. They hit 1200 HP before they ran out of Dyno time....... I would imagine the 5.3 would hold together the same. Check out the article.

get a kbracing intercooled kit with a magnum bb 72mm 96 ar turbo and run 12 psi. with the right tuning that should be safe. Put a cam in there and pick up another 60-100 hp.

I would think 10-12lbs depending on the quality of the fuel and tune.

Car craft's latest LS series article reporting running 12psi non-intercooled on a stock 5.3. I believe sprayedenali on this site has some something stupid like 30psi on a stock bottom end. Probably not on pump gas....regardless, he's a psychopath lol

Mitch is on e85, so I guess he's more drunk than anything.

10-12lbs is the short answer but it depends on a lot of things

thanks alot guys i was thinking of 10psi, but since this is a turbo, turning up the boost should be a minute away, I will stop when spark advance reaches about 16degrees in winter, because it will be much less than that in summer!

and yes im getting a kbracing kit, but not the regular kbracing kit, you guys wait and see lol
