Meth Injection
How much could Meth help a setup like mine? I've got an LQ9 with a TVS1900 and standard supporting mods (CAI, 90mmTB, Full exhaust, yada yada) Running 7lbs of boost, I'm seeing about a 25* increase in IAT's on a full pass. I'm limited on timing (+16*) with just a touch of kr crossing the traps (-1*) AFR steady at 11.4. I'm hoping that I could run a couple more degrees of timing and drop my IAT a little, but have zero experience with Meth. I was thinking a fixed nozzle kit would probably be fine because it gets into boost so fast I think a progressive kit would be wasted. but maybe progressive is the way to go for dd duties. Any opinions are welcomed.

I'm a big proponent of methanol in boosted applications. IMO up your boost and spray the hell out of it. Guarantee you can run more timing. You won't see a big IAT swing, the octane boost is the major factor. I'm also curious to see how long term methanol use affects the overall carbon build up of an engine. Thinking the engine will be much cleaner.
Its a bit of a hassle in my area to get methanol so look into that. I've learned where the sources are and when I go get it I get enough to last 6 months or so.
Progressive is nice for daily but still not perfect. Much better than not though. You need the ramp to try and match it to WOT fueling ramps. Even with a progressive with AFR spot on spraying meth at WOT it goes rich at part throttle pulls. Would be worse without the progression.

I tune the AFR with meth and fuel. I tuned the VE with just fuel only and got it right then turned on the methanol and tuned the PE/Boost enrichment tables (2bar SD) to achieve 11.5 bottom end of the RPM/high load to 11.8 top end of the RPM range. I'm actually commanding something like 13:1 AFR in boost with the methanol making up the rest to net 11.5 to 11.8. Hope that makes sense

Makes sense, thanks!
I dump mine in on top because I seem to be chicken to raise my AFR on fuel alone. But my resulting AFR is way rich at 9.5 as boost builds. Time for a change in strategy.
At what psi do you bring the boost in an how fast do you ramp it up?

i also tune mine with the meth runing. but i tuned my ve table in the low boosted regions so that the afr is not pig rich with low boost light loads. doing it that way i can cruise up and down hills will a little boost and 13.5 afr. i'm runing the sts kit and it works off the injector duty cylce. pretty nice setup.
WSW fluid here. when i pulled the heads off i didn't have any carbon build up. 80,000+ miles.
