Wouldnt the incoming meth spray fill the gap between the rotors, hence " sealing up" the gap and help to not lose boost?

My first thought was "get a bigger cam" so you could drop that vacuum down to something more reasonable Then I read about the California smog problem...

The methanol is part of the incoming air charge, so it would bleed past the rotors just as well.

That's a factory defective coating and it's been discussed. Ask Brian "Blownchevy".

I was wondering, that seems a bit excessive unless someone was spraying a **** tone of meth. That pic was posted in one of my threads, an while i know meth is corrosive I also put about 2k miles on mine a year so i dont imagine ill be using much meth.

I emailed the shop (blue collar performance) asking for some follow up and this is what he said....

"None that I can share, except you really should NEVER inject pre-blower on ANY roots, especially a TVS with coated rotors."

Since the publisher of the photo refuses to answer any questions about the complete package, it is very tough to determine what really happened here. too many variables.

It's BS, no way the small amount of meth that actually gets sprayed in relation ship to the amount of air coming though the supercharger could do that. Meth is usually in vapor form by the time it gets to the rotors any way. Meth is only corrosive to aluminum when it sets for a long period of time in direct contact with it. I'm sure that was a coating issues, cuz there is WAY to many guys spraying Meth through TVS's (including me when I had one) for that to be a problem. Internet BS if you ask me.

Look at the differences in coating even between the two rotors; the one in the foreground has way more damage to the coating than the one in the background. Seems more likely related to coating quality; otherwise shouldn't both rotors show similar deterioration to the coating?
