Looks like he seperated the upper and lower portions of the manifold and installed this spacer in between the two. The blower would still be directly connected to the upper manifold, but the pressurized plenum volume would go up, and the inter-cooler (which is attached to the upper manifold) would get less heat soak through material connection this way.
This is a great idea!!!
I'm guessing he needed a longer belt, or if he pullied down, that probably made it work right there. On the "old" MP112 and 122 you'd probably have to make a new nose support piece that would be longer to meet the increased installed height of the snout.

I have been reading about similar workings with the KB's over on CorvetteForum to gain additional clearance (flow path) from the bottom of the IC to the runners. You have done that plus added some thermal isolation from the main engine. I may try to tackle something like this with mine in the future. Keep us informed of the results.

Things are looking great!, temps are considerably lower, heat soak does not to be as much of an issue, Everything mounted above the spacer is holding an avg. of 50* cooler than the engine. Iat's are between 100-110* cooler than the ECT sensor, and boost readings are showing to be consistant.
My Recent trip to the track had both some good and bad. good consistant ET's "hot lapping" 12.82 and 12.79, bad was no third gear to finish any of the runs. my best of the day was 12.46 @99 MPH Stuck in second gear decelling thru the traps.
More tests are being conducted and results will be posted.
thx

Phenolic Spacer 300.00
Longer bolts 127.00
Ford Racing 80# injectors 400.00
longer belt 46.00
gasket materials 30.00
So about $ 900.00
Prototyping is expensive especially when you order the wrong stuff and then need to pay for overnight saturday delivery to get what you needed in the first place.....
true story BTW.
