I think what had people confused was the fact that you referenced a GN. They had air to air IC's mounted behind the radiator I believe. Most of the serious guys change them to front or low mount IC's anyway. Mounting the actual IC behind the radiator will still not be efficient, becuase you'll still have air heated by the radiator constantly blowing on it. You run the risk of it getting heat soaked too in traffic. I ran my intake straight down out of the throttle body when I was NA and that thing would get heat soaked sooo bad I would see 167* IAT's.
