Mounting PLX AFR & Boost modules?
Here's the scoop, I have 2 PLX gauges to mount. One is strictly AFR and the other is a DM-100 that for now will monitor boost. Both gauges are getting mounted in the overhead center console VIA a panel from SoCal Diesel. This is a 2006 Chevy Silverado Z71.
I have a couple of questions on the things and was looking for some feedback from anyone with the PLX setup. I was wanting to mount the modules under the center console between the seats but I will need an extension cable of some sorts for the DM-100.
1. Where have you guys mounted the modules?
2. Have any of you bought an extension cable for the DM-100 gauge?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I guess if I can't come up with a better solution I'll go pillar mounted too. But I may make a trip to Radio Shack tomorrow and see what I can come up with on extension cables. The DM-100 uses a VGA type cable, I may just have to make one.

I had the same setup, same 06 silverado crew cab, etc. I popped off the dash bezel, removed the headlamp switches, which gave me some access to the dead space behind it and behind the fuse panel. I tapped the fuse panel for power, and grounded it to the chassis there as well.
The modules were double-sided taped and zip tied back there pretty secure. The wires that came with the PLX modules that ran to the gauges fit perfect, with no excess wiring hanging around or creating a mess.
I don't think you are going to have enough wire to run your gauges overhead, then down the pillar, across the dash, and into the center console. I'd look at mounting it where I did mine, or even on the passenger side behind the glove box, etc...

Thanks, I'll pop that switch out later and see what you're talking about. Like you said that will probably give me the access to the dead space back there. Which has been my biggest problem, finding enough access to the spot.

opens up ALOT once you pop that switch/ac vent out and gain access. Plus with the module right there, you can pop the vacuum line to the engine bay to get a solid boost reading.

Alright I went and popped that switch and AC vent assembly out. Holy **** man there's a ton of room back there. I can work with that, I really appreciate all the input guys.
